A new challenge presented itself with the El Mexicana Ilford project. The space allocated by the The Exchange, Ilford was too large for the initial launch project so we had to come up with a practical design that would appear complete but would allow for an expansion at a later date. A ground floor site which needed maximum impact to encourage a greater foot fall. A vibrant, colourful scheme to draw the eye but allowed for an efficient use of space to maximise the seating area and still allow good access to the main counter areas. El Mexicana is the exciting new name in food retail, offering authentic, great value Mexican food in a lively and energetic environment. There's a choice of tasty meals - from burritos to buffalo wings, chili to churros - and ordering is quick and easy. With a relaxed and informal atmosphere reminiscent of traditional Mexican street vendors, it's the fast, fresh and fun new way to eat - no cutlery required!

The El Mexicana menu offers something for everyone whether they are new to mexican food or have eaten it before. There is a simple but wide choice of meals and the ability to personalise each with a range of salsas from mild to mouth watering, so it is suitable for all tastes including children.

The Kiosk itself needed to offer practicality from a food preparation and serving perspective and present a vibrant, visually pleasing backdrop for the food being offered. Nosh, The Oasis

Nosh is the exciting new name in food retail, offering fresh, handmade sandwiches, quality Fairtrade coffee and a great selection of hot and cold food at sensible prices. With the option to eat in or take away, Nosh is the smart choice - at breakfast time, at lunch time, any time!

Their range of freshly prepared food includes:

  • Hot and cold breakfasts
  • Sandwiches, wraps, baguettes, Paninis and salads, made every day in our own kitchens from fresh, quality ingredients
  • Soups, jacket potatoes and pasta dishes
  • Cakes and pastries
  • A selection of hot and cold drinks from Fairtrade coffee to iced frappes

The Nosh experience

At Nosh they go out of their way to make you feel welcome - they know a smile and fast service make a difference. Their stores provide a relaxing and comfortable environment whether youŐre popping in for a quick sandwich or lingering over coffee with friends, while their office and commercial locations stock a range of hot and cold food to take back to your desk.

The choice of location for their latest franchise in The Oasis, Meadowhall gave AJC Retail Solutions the opportunity to work with the Nosh team on a blank canvas, an open space project. Yeoman's Row project

Atea Ocanie is a boutique shop which sells premium craft and fashions melding ancient south pacific craftsmanship with European savoir faire, their jewellery, clothing and accessories evoke the unhurried way of life in the southseas. With this ethos they needed a very special property from which to retail their products. They chose YeomanŐs Row, London for the boutique. A wonderful space which had its own set of challenges given the nature and age of the building. The AJC Retail Solutions team worked with Atea Oceanie under very specific design instructions. The end result can be seen below, the creation of a sophisticated retail environment, a perfect back drop to the Atea Oceanie product range.
